I had a $5 Aunt too. . . SO precious!! And in my classes, we decorated shoe boxes with a mail slot to hold our valentines, adorned with flourishes of crepe paper ruffles!! Happy Valentine's Day to you and Tom!

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone. I too often forget or dismiss Valentine's day since my husband died and most all my family have passed away. Jeanne, your blog helped to rewire my brain and realize that such a day is a great time to wish those close to my heart a heartfelt valentine's day rememberance. Thank you to all.

Thx for another fun trip down memory lane. I, too, loved those punny cards we got at the drugstore to send around. Loved the photos of some of your favorites. Happy Valentine’s Day!❤️

I also remember the pockets of valentines in elementary school where we put in valentines for our classmates. I love the vintage valentines sprinkled throughout your blog. Thank you for the memories! Have a special Valentines Day!

I loved those little packets of Valentine's Day cards. I don't remember the rules about giving to everyone in our class so sometimes I felt like I was one who did not get as many as some of the more popular children in my class. I also loved those tiny candy hearts with sayings printed on them.
