I am not sure if anyone noticed but I did not post on my blog last week. I had very good intentions to get a post done this week. However, as the title of this wee post today says, the living has been a bit lazy recently.
Actually, I have been very busy but with non-blog activities. Our daughter and two of our grandchildren have been here visiting and they just left yesterday to return home. We had a wonderful jam-packed week of touring the French Broad Chocolate Factory, getting stuck in an Escape Room, picnicking at Lake Julian, visiting the WNC Nature Center, eating way too much pizza and Dairy Queen and enjoying relaxing evening swims at the pool. It was a great week. But somehow writing a blog post never matched with the activities of the day.
I had good intentions to write a post today but instead I have been packing and taking care of an assortment of random tasks since I fly out early-early-way-too-early tomorrow morning to spend a week with that same daughter and grandchildren in Massachusetts.
I don’t return until late next Saturday which means (since I will have a Monday morning meeting to prepare for when I return) it is unlikely that I will post next week either. I share this with you not as an apology or justification but more of an affirmation that yes, sometimes the living is lazy and I think that is 100% okay.
Summertime seems a wonderful time to be more laid back and less pressured by all the good intentions that usually serve as our guidelines and motivations. I hope you are enjoying some non-productive time this summer, too. I just got Ann Patchett’s newest novel Tom Lake from the library and can’t wait to delve into that on the plane ride tomorrow.
I will be back blogging in just a few more weeks. Relax. Enjoy the joy.
You’ve had a lot of grandkid time this spring and summer! Lucky you and Tom! And I love Ann Patchett
Will do! "Enjoy the joy".
